Aubade bands are frequently soft, flexible and comfortably stretchy. Many customers are happy in their usual band size, while others prefer a closer fit based on their actual underbust measurement. The band should feel secure and level across the back without needing to be fastened immediately on the tightest hook.

Cup shape requires a little more attention. Aubade half-cup and plunge bras often have an open neckline and can feel slightly shallow through the centre of the cup. This can create a beautifully lifted, rounded décolletage, but a fuller or more projected bust may need to move up a cup letter or choose a deeper comfort, triangle or full-cup shape.

Do not assume every Aubade bra in the same size will fit identically. A moulded spacer bra, a lace half-cup and an embroidered plunge each distribute volume differently. The best size is the one in which the wire surrounds the breast, the centre sits correctly and the upper edge lies smoothly without cutting in or standing away.

• Choose a half-cup bra when you want an open neckline, uplift and a rounded décolletage.
• Choose a plunge bra for lower necklines and a more central, revealing shape.
• Choose a triangle or comfort triangle when you prefer a lighter visual line with more natural coverage.
• Choose a spacer or moulded bra for a smoother finish beneath close-fitting clothing.
• Choose a full-cup or comfort shape when containment and a deeper cup are more important than a very open neckline.
• Choose a body, waistcincher or suspender style when you want the collection’s lace or embroidery to become the focus of the outfit.

Customers with a projected bust often find that a deeper triangle, comfort or full-cup style is easier to fit than the most open half-cup silhouettes.

Aubade uses different fabrics to create different visual and fitting effects rather than relying on one standard composition. Polyamide is the most common fibre across the lingerie ranges because it produces fine lace, smooth mesh and lightweight supporting fabrics. Elastane adds stretch and shape recovery, while polyester appears frequently in embroidery, moulded cups and linings.

Cotton is used selectively, most often in brief and body gussets. Lazy Days stands apart from the lace-led bra collections with its modal, silk and elastane knit, while Sumptuous Waves and Pour Toujours use a greater proportion of polyester within their detailed embroidery.

Rosessence, Danse des Sens and Pour Toujours can each contain several different fabric compositions within one garment because the cups, backs, centre panels, embroidery and linings perform different jobs. Always check the individual product information and the sewn-in care label for the precise composition.

To protect Aubade lace, embroidery and elastic:

• Hand wash bras, bodies and embroidered pieces whenever possible.
• Fasten hooks before washing to prevent them catching on lace.
• Use cool water and a detergent intended for delicate fabrics.
• Avoid bleach, fabric conditioner and strong stain-removing products.
• Do not wring, rub or twist lace and embroidery.
• Reshape padded and moulded cups while damp.
• Dry naturally and keep away from tumble dryers, radiators and direct heat.
