Anita Care Bras

Anita Care bands are generally true to size, although some designs can feel slightly generous or stretchy. A new bra should usually feel secure on the loosest hook, leaving the tighter settings available as the band relaxes with wear.

As with Anita lingerie, Anita Care uses a single-letter cup sequence and does not manufacture double-letter sizes such as DD, FF or GG. A UK DD therefore converts to an Anita E, while a UK FF converts to an Anita H. The equivalent volume may be familiar even though the letter on the label is different.

Specialist fitting is particularly important when choosing a prosthesis bra, breast form or post-operative garment. The correct product depends not only on bra size, but also on the type and stage of surgery, scar position, breast shape, symmetry, sensitivity and any advice from your surgeon, breast-care nurse or other clinician.

Anita Care offers breast forms for different stages and types of compensation. Lightweight textile forms can be used soon after surgery or at home, while silicone full prostheses and partial compensatory cups are designed to restore balance more permanently once healing allows.

Breast forms differ in shape, weight, side, projection and material. Some are symmetrical and can be worn on either side; others are specifically shaped for the left or right. Partial forms are intended to balance uneven tissue after breast-conserving surgery, while full forms replace the complete breast contour after mastectomy. These products should be professionally fitted wherever possible.

Anita Care chooses fabrics according to the purpose of each product. Smooth everyday specialist bras such as Lotta and Lynn rely heavily on polyamide and elastane for softness, flexibility and shape recovery. Tonya uses polyester, polyamide and elastane for a stable moulded finish, while Safina includes cotton and viscose alongside technical fibres. Valencia is notably cotton-rich while still containing enough elastane to provide controlled compression.

Exact compositions vary by style and colour. Breast forms and prostheses also require their own care routine, which may differ completely from the washing instructions for bras and garments. Always follow the individual product guidance supplied with the item.

For bras and specialist garments:

• Close all fastenings before washing.
• Use a lingerie bag if machine washing is permitted.
• Choose a delicate cycle at a low temperature or hand wash where recommended.
• Use a mild detergent and avoid fabric conditioner.
• Do not tumble dry or place garments on radiators.
• Allow items to dry naturally away from direct heat and sunlight.
