The current Soak Laundry Soap ingredient list includes aqua, coco-glucoside, glycerin, lauryl glucoside, sodium cocoamphoacetate, sodium cocoyl glutamate, sodium lauryl glucose carboxylate, glyceryl oleate and additional formulation ingredients for preservation, stability and performance. Fragranced versions include parfum; Scentless does not. The brand describes the formula as plant-derived, biodegradable, pH-neutral, phosphate-free, dye-free and sulphate-free.
Soak has used bottles made from 100% post-consumer recycled resin since 2012 and states that its packaging is recyclable. The rinse-free concept can also reduce water use during hand washing, although for lingerie the brand recommends a quick rinse. This is a useful reminder that “no-rinse” is an option built into the formula rather than a rule that overrides the needs of a particular garment.
Soak is suitable for many washable delicates, but it is not a reason to ignore a dry-clean-only label or specialist fibre instructions. Structured tailoring, some wool garments, adhesive products and pieces with unusual finishes may need different care. When in doubt, follow the manufacturer’s care label for the item rather than applying one routine to everything.
