Anita Active bands are generally true to size, although some models can feel slightly generous or stretchy. A new sports bra should feel firm and secure on the loosest hook so that tighter settings remain available as the band relaxes with wear.

As with Anita lingerie, Anita Active uses single-letter cup sizing and does not manufacture intermediate double-letter sizes such as DD, FF or GG. A UK DD converts to an Anita E, while a UK FF converts to an Anita H. The cup volume can therefore be familiar even though the letter on the label looks different.

Sports bras should feel more secure than an everyday bra, but they should not restrict breathing or create painful pressure. The cups should fully contain the bust, the band should remain level during movement and the straps should stay in place without digging into the shoulders.

• Choose maximum support for running, jumping, court sports and demanding gym sessions.
• Choose firm support for cycling, hiking, strength training, Pilates or lower-impact classes.
• Choose a racerback or X-back style when you want the straps held securely away from the shoulders.
• Choose padded or moulded cups when you prefer a smoother, more defined shape beneath sports clothing.
• Choose a wool-blend style for outdoor activity when temperature regulation and natural moisture control are priorities.
• Choose wider padded straps if shoulder pressure is a concern, particularly in fuller cup sizes.

Support level is only one part of the decision: neckline, strap position, cup shape and the type of exercise all affect which bra will feel best.

Anita Active uses technical fibres according to the job each sports bra must perform. Polyester is prominent in moisture-managing styles such as Extreme Control, while polyamide gives Air Control and Light and Firm their smooth, lightweight feel. Elastane provides the stretch and recovery needed to hold the bra close during movement, and polyurethane appears in DynamiX for added structure.

PanAlp is the most distinctive range from a materials perspective. Selected products combine performance fibres with merino wool, bringing natural temperature regulation and moisture management to sports bras and high-waisted briefs.

Exact compositions vary between styles and colours, so always check the individual product information and the care label. Many Anita Active bras can be washed on a delicate 40°C cycle, but hand washing remains the gentlest option and helps preserve elastic recovery, bonded edges and padded cups.

To care for an Anita Active sports bra:

• Fasten hooks before washing.
• Remove detachable pads where the care instructions advise doing so.
• Use a gentle detergent and avoid fabric conditioner, which can affect technical fibres.
• Do not tumble dry.
• Allow the bra to dry naturally away from radiators and direct heat.
• Wash promptly after heavy exercise so perspiration does not remain in the fabric.
